I am a global citizen and so are you. The reality is, we are all citizens of a global nation. A nation with new shared values of democracy and capitalism.

The information age is now in full swing Walls between nations and proprietary knowledge have fallen and continue to fall. Our world, our nation, our communities and our families are in transition. New winds are blowing and for many, they feel like hurricanes and tornadoes Confusion and stress are by-products of this whirlwind transformation. But so are wealth and opportunity. Our lives are in a state of perpetual change, a brief pause, and gaze from where we came reveals that we see, learn, shop, travel, communicate purchase, exercise, eat, talk and especially work much differently than just 5 years ago.

We don’t read about the wars, we watch them. We receive instant messages and tweet our followers while on the internet doing a computerized workout. What used to take months, then weeks, then days, now require4s just “nanoseconds”. We’ve moved from economic cycles to economic chaos, where futurists are usually as effective in their prediction as weathermen are in predicting the climate. Who, without a crystal ball, can foresee the next innovation and how it will impact our lives?

We have increased velocity as we moved through the agricultural economy to the manufacturing economy, then through the service economy to the “idea economy”.

The idea economy is a world where information facilitates inspiration. Where ideas and abundant technology creates business parity. In fact, current studies indicate that over 30 thirty percent of our work force is now operating out of their home.
